When a tooth is extracted, bone loss is an inevitable part of the healing and tissue regeneration process. In this context, gingival recession occurs, and patients usually wish a restitutio ad integrum. In most cases, augmentation procedures are the only way to achieve this post-extraction. To address this need, curasan has partnered with experts to develop a material, CERASORB Foam, which is specifically designed for this type of treatment.
Clinical trials conducted in Prof. Frank Palm’s clinic in Konstanz in Germany have revealed that when CERASORB Foam is applied, a tissue protection of over 90% can be achieved, compared to the current market maximum of 60%. This can often negate the need for more extensive augmentation procedures.
